Who are we?
Since May 2006, The Animal Shelter of Texas County has assisted in over 1,000 pet rescues and adoptions. We have accomplished most of these without a facility. We have been able to complete this by placing these homeless animals in foster homes, using our resources with Petfinder and other websites, and working closely with our local veterinarians. In July 2008 we have completed our goal of opening the doors of our newly built shelter providing homes to dogs and cats.
TASTC is a Voice for the Animals. To rescue, nurture, and adopt animals in need is the driving force in our daily efforts to save the lives of innocent animals.
TASTC is PROUD to be a no-kill shelter. A no-kill shelter is an animal shelter where animals are only euthanized if they are too sick to be treated or too aggressive to be suitable for adoption. No-kill shelters reject euthanasia as a means of population control.
Pets that are in a race against the clock for life. We save these animals from almost certain death, seek the medical attention they need and place them into our shelter, foster homes, or adoption homes where they will be given the love and attention they deserve.
