Who are we?
Since May 2006, The Animal Shelter of Texas County has assisted in over 1,000 pet rescues and adoptions. We have accomplished most of these without a facility. We have been able to complete this by placing these homeless animals in foster homes, using our resources with Petfinder and other websites, and working closely with our local veterinarians. In July 2008 we have completed our goal of opening the doors of our newly built shelter providing homes to dogs and cats. We are proud to say we are a no-kill animal shelter.
TASTC is a Voice for the Animals. To rescue, nurture, and adopt animals in need is the driving force in our daily efforts to save the lives of innocent animals.
Pets that are in a race against the clock for life. We save these animals from almost certain death, seek the medical attention they need and place them into our shelter, foster homes, or adoption homes where they will be given the love and attention they deserve.

How can you help?
A 20-acre site with a newly built facility is the home of TASTC. We have only a limited number of kennels available for dogs and cats. Foster homes are one of our greatest resources. If you are interested in fostering an animal(s), it gives another animal a chance to stay at the shelter.
Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated. Donation receipts will be provided for tax purposes.
Volunteers are vital and play an important part in the operation of our non-for–profit organization. We are always needing help! We would greatly appreciate it if you could donate a few hours of your time and love a week-or even a month. There are a variety of ways to help; such as: cleaning, answering phones, working with dogs/walking dogs,(etc.) at the shelter and help running fundraisers.
Donations of shelter supplies are always in need!
We could use such items as: kennels, leashes and collars, dog & cat treats & toys, medical supplies, cleaner/laundry detergent/soap, cat litter, and more. You can drop off any of these items at the shelter between 10a.m.-5p.m.Tuesday-Saturday.
By sending your donation today, you will be saying that it is not acceptable to leave an innocent animal cold, hungry and alone.
